President Sugino’s paper “Buddhism and the Common Good” published by Columbia University
“Ethics in Action for Sustainable Development”, edited by Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Columbia University Press, and prefaced by Pope Frances, was published in December 2022 and included an English-language article by Gakurin President Sugino entitled “Buddhism and the Common Good”. “Buddhism and the Common Good” in “Ethics in Action for Sustainable Development”, forwarded by Pope Francis and edited by Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Columbia University Press, December 2022.
President Sugino’s article touched on characteristics of Buddhist Economics, Buddhist virtue ethics, as well as a comparative analysis of Buddhist Christian on ontological perspectives and procedural approaches in personal, societal and global transformation.
